Fly

Strange that the Muse would want to make this. I'm terrified of flying. If you know me at all, you're very aware of this. But all things birds, wings, etc. have been an obsession lately and this one came tumbling out onto the page. My VERY good friend Rabbit introduced me to the group Nickel Creek a while back and I fell in love with them. Of course by the time I discover them, they are no longer together. But I did manage to get a hold of a CD loaded with their best songs. This song is one of my faves and I think it kind of fits the flying theme here:

I know and really really really love this song. It brings back a painful but beautiful memory. Thanks for the sweetness just when I'd forgotten what it felt like.

Whoa! Are you sure you haven't been sneaking into my medication? It looks like you're flying pretty high! Well, at least you aren't listening to Carole King. She feels the earth move under her feet. I think she lives in California. Anyway, great art as always.

Oh. I visited your friend Rabbit. He's mad, because he can't find his hat. Evidently there are a lot of us with loose ends flying around lately. Thank goodness for my computer and digital art. It's the only thing keeping me from the inner depths of insanity. Well, maybe it is. After re-reading my comments, I'm beginning to wonder! :O) Wait to see what you look like at my Royal Wedding Reception Friday. I think I found the real inner you.

Once again I love the contrast of the texture in the background and the figure. Looks fantastic!

Victoria: Oh, Thank YOU, my dear friend! You are always a shining light for me. BIG hug and sparkles right back at you! :)

J: YOU are very welcome! ;)

David: I DO remember that. Thank you, my friend... *big smile*

Bill: Ha! You always make me smile (if not laugh out loud!) Oh, Lordy...I can't wait to see what you've cooked up at that reception of yours. I'm afraid to ask what the real inner me may look like! ;) I'll be there!!

Lenore: Oh, thank you! I really appreciate your comments. :)

Delightful! You know I was always very afraid of flying, until I married a man who works for the airlines. :-)

Lori: Thank you, my friend! Always such a treat to see you! :)

Crystal: Thank you! I'm working on facing that particular fear... ;)

Pam what a lovely picture... and the music... One get such a flying free sensation when watching "you" flying up there in the sky.

What you’re saying is completely true. I know that everybody must say the same thing, but I just think that you put it in a way that everyone can understand. I also love the images you put in here. They fit so well with what you’re trying to say. I’m sure you’ll reach so many people with what you’ve got to say.

this painting reminds me of Sister Bertrille. You remember her? The flying Nun...
