This is my entry for Paint Party Friday. I missed last week and wanted to try and get back into the groove again. This one started as a sketch on paper and then just went from there. I had these textured papers I made from the 21 Secrets journaling class and decided to work on one of those. It is a recycled magazine page, of all things, with gesso, lots of gel medium, paints, inks and whatever else I could think of added to it.
I call her my Mystery Girl. I'm not sure what to think of her. I can't say I trust her really. Once you start to look at her you get an uneasy vibe. Better trust your first instinct! ;)
Make sure to check out all of the other entries for PPF. You'll find so much talent, inspiration and cool art waiting for you!

She does give off that uneasy vibe. I don't know how to put it. Like the moment you went to pass her, she would turn and grab you. Love it though.
PS- Stop over at my place. There's something for ya there.
Great picture, but I wonder what mystery woman is up to? Happy PPF, Valerie

I love 21 Secrets, and working with magazine pages (Alma Stoller's class). It's fun to see what one can make of them!
Your elegant mystery woman in her fur coat is beautiful! I think the raven on her shoulder and the gnarled tree are nice touches and add to the mystery. I love the contrast of the lavender colors in the background.
Very mysterious indeed. Great piece! HAPPY PPF!
She does seem very mysterious. I so like art that makes you think! :-)
She is mysterious. :) I love the dark tree branches and the purple skies. Beautiful!
Yes she is mysterious, but I really like this piece. Love the crow on her shoulder. This could be fabulous on a book cover for a mystery novel. Happy PPF! :-)
Hi Pam...I LOVE this piece..and I absolutely trust her..there is something magnetic and beautiful about her..i dont fear her at all! I relate to her essence..I don't see darkness...but an empowering and beautiful poetic presence!

Oooohhh! Very cool!
Beautiful painting. i think the tree and the pet crow add to the uneasy vibe and distrust. Fabulous!
(It IS great to finish something, isn't it!)
Wonderful artwork Pam, she's gorgeous but a little spooky, you are right, don't trust her.... Happy PPF. Annette x
Haha. I love how you think she is scandalous! Very cool, and although you may think she is sneaky, she is beautiful! You are the second person to mention 21 secrets journaling class. I am major curious!
Dark and mysterious..I love her!
Hi Pam, I really like this piece. The dark against the colored background creates a wonderful feeling. The little bit of skin we see draws me in.
Puck, I think she can be trusted, it looks to me like she is protecting or hiding something...I love how this gives the feeling that you have dug deep into your soul allowing it to spill out on canvas...beautiful
<3
i like this girl a lot. she is quite possibly up to no good. she makes me think of a gangster's moll from the bugsy malone era! great colours and fabulous eerie tree!
You are the texture master! I love how the soft areas contrast with the rough ones... beautiful!
xo

Mystery girl is a great name for her. Who is she looking back at? Why is she half hiding? Lots of stories buried here. I like the black tree silhouette against the purple too!
I love a mystery! Her deep colors attract me she is very magnetic. She draws you in fast and that I think is what scares people.
Great piece.
AMAZING! Must say alot about me but I don't find her spooky at all....maybe just in need of a great big hug :) Gorgeous gorgeous textures and colours. LOVELY! xx

That tone moradooscuro around the figure gives it a surreal and fantastic, well done.Saludos

Absolutely loving your mystery lady. Fabulous!
love the period look of her and the background is perfect.
I love a good mystery. She is just wonderful.
Very mysterious! Such a beautiful painting.
Interesting how we all have different interpretations of her attitude (from anger to fear) and yet we all agree on the mystery part. :)
Thanks for all your enthusiastic comments on my different works.
See looks like the kind of girl who knows where to get into trouble! I love how brooding this piece is-- with her intense gaze and those branches creeping in. Beautiful!
She is up to something, that's for sure! Love the yummy purples in this.
Just found your blog through PPF and I had to say: this is stunning!
I'm not sure I'd trust her either, but she definitely is fascinating. The bird is like a bad omen... argh, I usually don't believe in stuff like that, but here I feel a bit Hitchcock. The background is gorgeous btw, I love those colors. All in all, I think this is a wonderful painting.
She's a beauty Pam, love the way the colours melt & the dramatic silhouettes - very mysterious look too, wonderful!
I love this, so dark and mysterious an I love the tree you've added. Just a fabulous painting!
She does have a mystery about her especially with her raven guide...
Beautiful! I really like the background and the crow/raven on her shoulder.
She is very mysterious indeed. She is beautiful!

Love the texture you did an excellent job, is captivating!
I love the coat - it looks furry and warm.
Oh my, Pam, this lady makes me want to write sexy, dark and bloody things!
