Turning
Going too fast for myself I missed
more than I think I can remember
almost everything it seems sometimes
and yet there are chances that come back
that I did not notice when they stood
where I could have reached out and touched them
this morning the black shepherd dog
still young looking up and saying
Are you ready this time
by W.S. Merwin
I loved this poem when I first read it. It describes perfectly how things have been for me lately. It seems that time keeps getting away from me and I'll just marvel at how much I've missed. I'm trying to make an effort to slow down and appreciate more of the things and people that are important to me. I don't always make much progress but I am definitely becoming more aware.
This is another art journal page and my entry for Paint Party Friday. This was a loose sketch I did one night a while back and I just decided to paint it today. Still loving those watercolors I used in the background.
Another thing I want to try and be better about is visiting all of you more. Thank you all for your wonderful comments on my last post. They helped me more than you know. I look forward to visiting all of your blogs in the coming days! Big Hug to all of you!

If you can't visit as much and you are doing "real life" stuff or are too busy creating, then so be it! If you can do that stuff and still visit once in a while, that's even better.
I love this piece. It looks so much like an old major flame of mine, that I'm shocked...
You are awesome!
Pat: Thank you so much! I really appreciate it when you stop by. Your comments mean a lot to me. Big Hug! :)
Just found that you corrected the link... should have looked down the list... not that I didn't like seeing that Lisa Mitchell clip again... she is fab isn't she xx
Love the painting and the poem. Powerful. Blessings, Janet PPF

Beautiful work, Pam, and I am so happy to see you around again!
You are so right. It seems as if time is passing me by all the time. It is a constant struggle to remember to breathe deep and take it all in. Have a great weekend! Happy PPF!
Wonderful painting, and yes, I love your background too.
Great journal spread and a wonderful poem to go along. :)
Great journal page and love the poem ~ all so creative ~namaste, Carol (Share the Creative Journey) Happy PPF ^_^
what a lovely poem - I can relate to it so much as well - and what a beautiful watercolour to go with it. I love the sky especially!
I was wondering if it was suppose to be a self-portrait. She's beautiful against that background!
Really strong painting,Pam. I think we can all relate to time, life, things passing us by so quickly. I love your black birds, too. I know they are symbolic and I have always loved them, but not sure what they mean to me
A painting empty of felling, and a great poeme. Saludos
Wonderful poem and artwork!
I commend you for making the effort to slow down for those you love and to take time for gratitude. What an inspiration to us all!
Happy PPF!!

Great to see you back!!
That watercolour background is awesome! Love the flock of birds and the wonderful redhead. Beautiful!!
I love everything about this! Her expression, the colors in the background, the birds and the poem are all beautiful!
I love your girl and the flock of birds, but what really spoke to me was the poem. It seemed to be talking to me directly.
Thank you for sharing. :)
ohh she's beautiful!!!
striking!!!
Loose sketch? Are you kidding me. It is awesome. I love how it looks as if she just turned to look at us. It appears she had been looking at the birds and then turned around slowly because something caught her attention. Great work Pam. Good weekend to you.
I love your background too and this looks more like a painting than just a journal page, it's so nice.
Inspiring..deeply magical and emotional piece..I love it. She is strong and empowered and the glowing colors around her are warming..and the beautiful birds in the distance very poetic and powerful!Wowness!
Shine on

While I love the face and admire your talent for getting the right expression, I also am so enthralled by that amazing and beautiful sky behind her. Wonderful!

Don't worry about visiting as its the busiest time of the year for everyone. Loving your latest painting and great words. Enjoy the weekend, Annette x
Hello Pam,
I'm glad to meet you and your blog.
I like the pensive air of this girl who seems to evoke the passage of time :)
Awesome background! Love the blending and our lady´s full lips.
Hi Pam, so glad you visited my blog. I'm loving your art...the colors are really wonderful! Give yourself permission, dear one, to take time for yourself. My safe place is curled up in my bed. A counselor once told me that it's okay for me to do that because that's how I stay safe. That was the permission I needed to take care of me. I don't stay there for days, but I do go there when I need to!!
Hugs!
Oh, Pam! She is so gorgeous! I love the profile and her features are beautiful - lovely poem too, xoxo
Merry Christmas! Big Hug!

A timely reminder, thank you for sharing this post, its a beautiful artwork too. Happy PPF xx
So beautiful. I love the background in watercolor. The lady is painted wonderfully. You did a great job! Let us enjoy each moment in the present and make the most of what we do everyday.
Pam...what a mesmerizing painting - I faces in the sky...I find myself conjuring up stories of what they all might mean to the woman in your painting.
And your selection of poetry is perfect...
Hugs, Jenny
