I Want
by Mary Oliver
I want to be
in partnership
with the universe
like the tiger lily
poking up
its gorgeous head
among the so-called
useless weeds
in the uncultivated fields
that still abide.
But it's okay
if, after all,
I'm not a lily,
but only grass
in a clutch of curly grass
waving in the wind,
staring sunward: one of those
sweet, abrasive blades.

What a beautiful poem for such an outstanding painting. I love the lay of the land and the blue of the sky with the white clouds peaking through. Very nice job! I need to learn how to paint land, sea, trees, etc. Happy PPF and if I don't see you, Happy Holidays to you and yours.

Hello Pam,
The atmosphere of your paintings reminds me of the painter Turner. I love this.

Beautiful poem and painting Pam. Love the colors. It looks some sand dunes at a beach I was recently at.
I love these colours and these energies you find in nature and which you are able to transfer to your canvas. Kudos!
