This is a painting I did early last year in one of
Misty Mawn's classes. It was my first attempt at using Shiva Oil Paintstiks. I really liked them! Not at first, but after getting used to how they worked (and with Misty's guidance). Now I use them in my encaustic painting for different effects but they are fun to play with. This is done on watercolor paper. As you can see I did smear a little in the background but I never really painted the background, so technically it isn't finished. Maybe that's why it's still untitled? ;)

I can't do those dumb ol' sticks. They hate me. I tried. I tried again. They still hate me.
I'll stick to my watercolor and acrylic, I think.

Great expression! She does remind me of a couple of famous girls but she is your creation and she's beautiful. I got some of the paintsticks but have not used them. Feeling a little unsure about them I guess. Maybe it's time to try them out.
