Fire and Ice

Fire and Ice

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To know that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
-- Robert Frost

Maybe it's the HOT weather that influenced this piece. We reached 100 degrees yesterday and it felt like it again today. I was playing with my CitraSolv papers and some alcohol inks and came up with this. Just a little experimenting. My sister is visiting this week so not much art getting done. But we are having a great time. I hope it's not near as hot or humid where you are. Personally, I'm looking forward to Fall (my favorite time of year). Meanwhile, I'm wishing summer would hurry and move on...

I'm with you Pam. I wish Summer would head on somewhere else. I'm a Spring/Fall/winter kind of gal. I become a new person during these time. I gotta say your latest piece is just out of this world! It's is awesome. I can't believe how you have made it look like it's just jumping of the page. Great work, thanks for sharing. Have loads of fun with your sister. Take care.

Love it! Love it!

We have not been below 102 in several weeks now and not a drop in sight! I feel lucky that we at atleast have a few clouds hovering over.

Glad you are having a grand visit with your sister!

This is an amazing piece of art, Pam. I so love the color combination. I'm currently in the Pacific Northwest and it's not hot at all, but lovely. Fall is my favorite season as well, mainly because of its abundance of bold and earthy colors.

Ah...to have a sister to forgo the brush for, such are the lucky ones indeed.

Fire or Ice, they both entice
but preference would be the cold
for fire would surely scorch my soul.

I just love your work! I see the souls looking out from within the ice.

Wrapped in deep thoughts...I send smiles,
Jenny

Very cool piece and the poem is a perfect accompaniment. I am not too happy about out hot, humid weather either! This weekend is going to be in the 100's and they have heat advisories. I cannot wait till Fall! :-)
