One fun thing: I was able to play with Tyvek! Yay! The crocodile is Tyvek painted black, ironed and then painted again. That's where all of that cool texture came from. So if nothing else I was able to come up with some textures for another piece later on :)
I've been having some computer problems off and on, but all fixed now. For Paint Party Friday people, sorry I wasn't able to get to you before now. I promise to visit your blogs starting today! :)

peoples perceptions ? when i opened your blog and saw all that green - i went yippee - i love green in all its shades - to me green is a colour of peace and nature and you have captured for me the true essence of this colour in your art work.

this is gorgious! i love it! i like the faces that seem to come out of the background, and i love the idea of a young woman being able to pet a crocodile. it makes me really wonder about the story of this friendship, as a metaphor as well as an actual scene. and, yes, that crocodile texture is awesome. ^_^

Hi Pam! You met the challenge very well. The greens are lovely. This is a wonderful work of art~! I especially love the juxtaposition of the girl and the crocodile and how she pets it as if it were a puppy. Also love the face in the background. So very cool! :-)

I have loved green (and these two shades in particular) for as long as I can remember.
The gentle and caring way this woman is touching Tyvek gives me tingles.
But..it's what I see behind her that makes this work speak to me...very mysterious and dark...and she is the light and the spirit.
Wow...makes me want to have my own copy to hang in my office...it is soothing, inspiring, and calming...yet it has intense energy...
I'm always astonished and truly moved by your creations.

It's such a feeling of accomplishment to finish something that challenges us or pulls us out of our comfort zone. Good for you - I sure couldn't tell you weren't comfortable because it's lovely. Next week I'll be in your position - what the heck do I do with pink??

why so reluctant to green? The result is amazing. The structured surface of the crocodile makes it look very realistic. Again, this picture wears something mysterious and unconscious in it, enhanced by the dark half face on the right ... I like it!
After seeing this piece I think you should try to use green more often as this is very beautiful.
