Tandem Andy's

Warhol Collage                                    9" x 12"

I am on vacation this week so I am posting my Paint Party Friday entry early. Plus, tomorrow will be my birthday and I hope to be out celebrating! I promise to make it to all of the artists' blogs at some point this weekend. I am entering two of my older pieces. I call these my "Tandem Andy's". They are two versions of the same piece. The first one is a collage of Andy Warhol. I used CitraSolv papers and acrylic paint on this painting.

For this second piece I printed the collage out onto silk and adhered it to a  12" x 12" wood panel. Then I painted it with encaustic paints.

I like both versions for different reasons. I like the colors in the CitraSolv papers and the effects they give in the collage. But I really love encaustic paint and the bold colors they brought to the silk. Plus I LOVE the splatter! ;)

Don't forget to check out the other artists at Paint Party Friday. It's always a treat to see what everyone has been up to this week.

Yep, I like them both, too. I love the color of the second one, but love the way his eye draws you in in the first one.

Sorry you're getting older! (hee-hee) But I turned 60 two weeks ago, and it's about time everyone catches up.

Both beautiful and interesting styles but if I have to pick one it's the first one where Andy's eye captures my focus.

Lovely work and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Both are amazing and capture the intense-ness of Andy Warhol, and the colors work like magic! As Warhol would say, they're "bee-you-tee-ful!"

I've only sketched him, but now you've inspired me to paint him. He's on my list. :)

Hi Pam -
I'm soooooooooo behind on blog reading that I just got to your latest post. I hope your birthday was great as well as your trip to Columbus.
I love catching up and seeing all the growth in your art. You are doing so many new and fun things.
I'm taking a local encaustic class in a month - can't wait. AND I'm gonna teach a beeswax collage class.
Keep up the experiments - they're fun to see.
