Alone

Here is my entry for this week's Paint Party Friday. I'm posting it early because I don't know how long I'll be able to access my blog. I've been locked out of Blogger for the past three days. I couldn't access my own blog or comment on anyone else's. That made me very unhappy, cranky and many other things I won't go into... So while I can still sneak in here I am posting now. ;)

This piece has so many layers on it I lost count. Fun! Tissue paper, paint, ink, rub-ons, stamps, everything within reach went onto the canvas. It also helped me to use up some of those supplies I've been neglecting. Make sure to check out all of the other entries at PPF tomorrow. The party seems to get bigger each week!

she looks lost and mournful...beauty in pain....if that makes sense?

she is lovely, just as you are my friend

I love the layering (as always). I once had a professor who always told us to paint over and over, paint a mess on the vancas and work it until it works because you can see little bits of every layer even if they're covered and it makes the painting more interesting and aesthetically pleasing. And I think he was right.

Happy (almost) Paint party friday! And good luck with blogger. I posted early too. : )

i can empathize with you somewhat on the blogging front. for me, google chrome and blogger have been like two stray cats trying to kill each other over a fish bone.

and, of course, i like the picture. so many different reasons there are for the need to be alone sometimes.

Sometimes alone is good! The layering is wonderful. I love all of the textures. I bet it's stunning in person.

Same here Pam. I have been able to comment on blogs either. Just a few moments ago I was able to comment on a few blogs where I haven't been able to comment. I love your PPF contribution. She does appear to be lonely. I like all the texture and wonder what she is thinking as she plays with a strand of hair. Very nice. Happy PPF!

Very very pretty Pam. I really like some of the little touches like the heart in the cage. Nice!!

Changing browsers from Internet Explorer to Google Chrome has solved the issues for me. I use both at home and IE at work and it is only with IE that I have issues. With Chrome everything works fine. Hope that helps!

She looks so lonely but yet, beautiful and powerful at the same time. Love all the layers as well. I heard a lot of people have been having trouble with Blogger....which is kind of dumb since they were fixing things for like two days. Geesh.

I love the idea that the piece has a lot of layers, just like your lady. I feel she has a lot of layers also:)

Oh, I really like her a lot, and I can sympathize with her need to be alone.

Amazing effect of this technique. But the best technique is useless without a talented drawer and painter like you.
Oh, in my masculine eyes she doesn't leave the impression of what the title suggests ... surely just projections! : )

There's a sadness about this, but yet beauty found within. Very nice work. :)

Is interesting as you have not painted the feet, seems to float. Saludos

Hi Pam, I've been locked out of my blogger dashboard, unable to work on blogs & only can post / comment just now. Frustrating!! I love how you wrote the words on the painting, the heart in the birdcage, and her imagery. The gray vs soft. Lovely!
Happy PPF! Theresa

I clicked it bigger so I could see the back ground. Looks fabulous. So much for the eye to rest on before moving on. and as I write this I can see my tree just below the comment box and it doesn't look too bad!!

She's a beauty! I too have been having ton's of blogger problems! Very annoying when I have a post of another artist who is waiting to see themselves featured on my blog. ;(
I sent the prints out to you yesterday.
Have a nice weekend.

You've captured me...I've been in your painting this past two weeks.

It makes me sad to see her so alone but sometimes alone is "al" about the "one".

Being alone rebalances my soul.

Your work is amazing - I never cease to be moved by it.

Hugs, Jenny
