"Highest of heights, I climb this mountain
and feel one with the rock and grit
and solitude echoing back at me."
-- Bradley Chicho
I'm working with encaustics again! The last couple of days have been warm enough to actually open the windows and plug in the equipment and ventilation fan. Today was pushing it, though. It got too cold with the windows open after a few hours so I finally had to shut it down. But I'm excited to be working with the wax again. I've got a lot of pieces started and am anxious to get back to them as the weather warms up.
This was the first time I had worked with the encausticbords made by Ampersand. I really like them. They are all primed and ready to go; and they are specifically made for encaustics.
This is also my entry for Paint Party Friday (a day early). Be sure to check out all the other entries. The party gets bigger every week! :-)

This piece is fantastic. I love the one underneath with the sun, too. Two wonderful pieces! Hugs, Valerie
The words fit your encaustic perfectly, a smashing piece of art. Happy PPF, x
This is beautiful and captures the feeling of solitude perfectly!
I LOVE this Pam! I can relate to this piece so much! Even when I am in a crowded room of people, I sometimes feel I am in solitude. This is gorgeous and serene and so beautifully representative! Fabulous... <3
This is lovely. Very still and calming.
oh the encaustic work amazes me....yours is so peaceful and beautiful!- enjoy playing with it!
happy friday!
The work looks great, that blue and that bird flying over the land.... very good. Saludos
Love the quote and the picture is wonderful... :)
The encaustics give it such a dreamy look. Wouldn't it be wonderful to soar over the earth like that? I'm afraid I'd fly straight to Paris, though. I want some macarons! Oh my. I've let my imagination get carried away again. It must be those fumes. You better crack open that window again.
Wonderful and dreamy! I'll be looking forward to more as the weather warms! Happy PPF!
Oh, I love this! Gorgeous colors in the sky, and a very moody, mysterious feel to it. How did you get the bird there? Did you paint it, or is it a transfer? The only thing I don't like about encaustic boards is that they're a little expensive, but they are wonderful to work on.
WOW, you always manage to amaze me with the amount of SOUL you pour into your art- incredible!
PPF Hugs,
Stephanie
P.S. I'm dying to try the encaustics- they look so much fun to do!

Gorgeous, Pam!! What an amazing shade of blue (and brown too) and the bird soaring adds a beautiful touch.
gorgeous!! happy PPF!
I just love the way encaustics look in general, yours looks windswept and majestic. Very nice work.
Your encaustic work is beautiful and every time I visit your blog your pieces entice me to try this gorgeous technique.
This latest piece is ethereal and goes perfectly with the poem.
Have a great weekend,

I just love the softness the wax lends to art pieces! This one is dreamy and calming....makes me feel like I'm lying in the grass looking up into the sky...
...Hooray for the onset of warmer weather :)
Wow this is great, so free!!!Deb
Ooooh - this piece is absolutely dreamy! I remain completely intimidated by encaustics.

How do you make hot wax look so "cool"!
Your work matches its title so well. Many of your paintings could be captured in dreams. Love them!
